We offer Abbott medical devices for PTCA, which dilate narrowed or blocked coronary arteries to treat ischemic heart disease and its complications.
Abbott PTCA balloon catheters are passed over a wire into the narrowed locations and then inflated to a fixed size. The balloon forces expansion of the stenosis (narrowing) within the vessel and the surrounding muscular wall, opening up the blood vessel for improv. Then the balloon is deflated and withdrawn. A stent may or may not be used when the ballooning time ensures the vessel remains open.
