Synthetic hybrid vascular prosthesis made of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). ePTFE material is unique in that the porous surface makes it much more durable, so the inside of the prosthesis lined with pores strengthens the prosthesis. The surface layer of the denser pores is also more prone to tissue growth, resulting in better healing results. A heparin coating is designed next to this inner layer, using albumin, the main blood protein. The outer layer is a knitted polyester fabric, and the two layers are fused with a patented polycarbonate-urethane.
Getinge ePTFE vascular prostheses are used to reconstruct large and small peripheral arteries. Prostheses are unique in their construction, which gives the prosthesis exceptional strength and durability according to the need. In addition to these advantages, ePTFE vascular prostheses are available in various sizes, lengths, and wall thicknesses.
